Covered Employment drops 8.3 Million since 2008

Shocking to me is that the Department of Labor (here) says that Covered Employment has dropped 8,342,321 people since December 2008.

Been bugging me some when I see the weekly unemployment initial claims UIC which headlines ADJUSTED data, so here is a chart of the advanced (last several weeks, otherwise all data is revised) initial claims not seasonally adjusted.

Dropping off my Washington State ballot

As I dropped off my Washington State ballot at the special pickup box, I was reminded of the ballot problems a few years ago with the Governor’s race. My mental image was of a cartoon where the voter puts in the ballot and after a moment there is a puff of smoke out the back of the pickup box.
